Agree To Disagree

A friend of mine and I wrote a song for The Million Moderate March called "Agree To Disagree". I was able to capture a lot of how I feel about the current state of politics in 3 verses. Hope you enjoy it!

Eagles need left and right wings to fly
If they don't work together they'll fall out of the freaking sky
One side has the passion
the other's got the gall
But if either had the answer we wouldn't do this every other Fall
So let's agree to disagree
It's a simple act and it could just set us free
Let's take it down a notch or three

You're not a fascist, I'm not a commie
We're better than these Internet comments
ALL CAPS and accusations, but not a lot of sense
'Cause only Adolf was like Hitler and opinion is not fact
Just think what we could do if we weren't easy to distract
So let's agree to disagree
Don't mind if gay dudes marry, that doesn't make me your enemy
Let's focus on reality, I'll lend you an ear, but my mind belongs to me
Freedom used to be the word for nothing to lose
These days freedom seems to be what freedoms they choose
Well, they can have their guns, if we can have our weed
'Cause to believe in freedom means even ones that you don't need.
So let's agree to disagree
And I say without sarcasm or irony
We argue so passionately
'Cause left or right we love our country
Sometimes we fight, but we love our country
We're wrong and right, but we love our country
